| Tuesday, 12 November, 2002, 18:36 GMT Kent snap up Sheriyar Former England A seamer Alamgir Sheriyar has joined Kent on a two-year deal.
"I am truly excited by the prospect of playing for Kent," said Sheriyar, who quit New Road at his own request. "I have been greatly impressed with the club's ambitions and plans and can't wait to get stuck into things next season." The ex-Leicestershire bowler added: "I feel that a change is the right thing for me at this stage of my career.
"I hope that this move will provide me with the impetus to achieve much more in the game." Kent captain David Fulton was delighted to have secured the services of Sheriyar. "It has been some time since we had a quality left-arm fast bowler playing for Kent," said Fulton. "Alamgir will add variety to our attack which I am sure will provide a real threat to our opponents next season." |
