Taufeeq Umar plays a lofted drive
Second Test, Bulawayo, day four: Pakistan 403 & 57-0 beat Zimbabwe 178 & 281 by 10 wickets

An enteratining innings by Zimbabwe's Andy Blignaut was all in vain as Pakistan wrapped up a 2-0 series victory with a day to spare.

All-rounder Blignaut hit two sixes off Pakistan skipper Waqar Younis in making 41 off 32 balls, benefitting from a dropped catch by Younis Khan on the square leg boundary when he had made 30.

But the home side were bowled out soon after lunch and Pakistan knocked off the 57 runs needed in eight and a half overs.

Salim Elahi flicked the winning single to fine leg to finish on 30 not out, with opening partner Taufeeq Umer making 21.

Zimbabwe began the day on 171 for five and were looking to Andy Flower, their best batsman, to play a major innings.

But he had not added top his overnight score of 13 when he was trapped lbw by the fourth ball of the day from paceman Waqar.

Blignaut's response was to meet adversity with aggression as and Tatenda Taibu put on 55 in 11 overs for the seventh wicket.

His onslaught came to an end when he was stumped by Kamran Akmal off Saqlain Mushtaq, who followed up by having Mluleki Nkala caught behind for 14.

It was the spinner's third victim of the innings, giving him 10 for 155 in the match, the third 10-wicket haul of his Test career.

Mohammad Sami bowled Ray Price for 12 but Pakistan were unable to pick up the final wicket before lunch as last man Henry Olonga kept Taibu company for the last four overs of the session.

The tourists did not waste any time after the re-start, however, as Taibu tried to play Waqar into the leg-side but got a leading edge and was caught by Yousuf Youhana for 37.

Pakistan's task was a straightforward one and Salim and Taufeeq collected nine boundaries between them to underline their side's all-rounder superiority.
