More snow is forecast for the weekend after a Friday sprinkling

Cardiff's Championship clash at home to Burnley has been called off due to safety issues at Cardiff City Stadium.

Wrexham's Blue Square Premier game at AFC Wimbledon has also fallen victim to the weather.

All Welsh Premiership and Swalec League rugby has been postponed this weekend and in the Welsh Premier football all games were postponed after Prestatyn v Carmarthen failed a late inspection.

Saturday's Devils ice hockey and horse racing at Ffos Las on Monday is off.

Saturday's Evo-Stick Premier Division game between Colwyn Bay and North Ferriby United has been postponed following an early morning pitch inspection at Llanelian Road.

Likewise Merthyr Town v Devizes Town in Toolstation Division One is also off.

The weather has beaten all four rugby fixtures in the Welsh Premiership on Saturday as the games between Cardiff and Pontypool, Carmarthen Quins and Aberavon, Cross Keys and Bedwas and Tonmawr and Glamorgan Wanderers have been postponed.

Llanelli's British and Irish Cup game with Nottingham on Saturday, London Welsh v Esher - despite being moved to Esher RFC - Plymouth Albion v Newport, Ayr v Llandovery and Pontypridd v Birmingham & Solihull are also off.

Bedford's British and Irish Cup trip to Neath on Sunday is also postponed.

The Scarlets, meanwhile, braved the conditions and travelled to Italy for Saturday's Heineken Cup Pool Five clash with Treviso.

The Ospreys' Heineken Cup Pool Three showdown with Munster on Saturday also went ahead despite the snowfall in south Wales on Friday.

Northampton's Heineken Cup visit to Cardiff Blues on Sunday is on after extensive work by groundstaff.

While Ffos Las' Monday meeting has been beaten by the snow, Chepstow Racecourse have their covers down ready for their showpiece Welsh National on Monday, 27 December after suffering four on-the-day inspections last year.
