She shot a four-round total of 18 under par, to finish six shots ahead of fellow Welshwoman Breanne Loucks, Italy's Diana Louna and Spaniards Tania Elosegui and Emma Cabrera-Bello. Ahead of the Spanish Open Brewerton said she had to win to boost her ambitions of making the European team for the Solheim Cup against the United States in August. In the process Brewerton won a first prize of 41,250 and added a second tour title to her name, having won the 2007 English Open. The win also won her qualification to the following weekend's prestigious Evian Masters event in France, where she hoped to gain more Solheim Cup ranking points and finished 13th. Disappointment followed at the Women's British Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes where Brewerton missed the cut. That left her without automatic qualification for the Solheim Cup, but a wildcard entry followed. In the meantime Brewerton finished fourth at the S4C Wales Ladies Championship. At the Solheim Cup she Brewerton and partner Gwladys Nocera gained two foursome wins, but the Welshwoman and Laura Davies lost the fourballs. The rest of the event also fell flat as Brewerton suffered a heavy final-day singles defeat, losing 5&4 to Angela Stanford as Europe lost 16-12. However, Brewerton showed her mettle by bouncing back to finish joint third at the French Open and second at the Tenerife Open. She also finished joint sixth at the Italian Open and those results helped her into third place in the Order of Merit with one event in Dubai remaining.
