Ex Trnje keep their eyes on the ball in the final

Newcomers Ex Trnje from Croatia have won the 2010 Insurance Corporation Jersey Open volleyball tournament.

They beat St Malo 25-22 12-25 15-7 in the final, after overcoming HLB Jackson Fox in straight sets in the semis.

Croatian captain Juraj Jogunica was delighted, telling BBC Jersey: "It's a great thing to win any tournament, but we're also surprised.

"We were a late invitation here, but what a great feeling to have won," added Jogunica.

In the ladies final, St Malo beat Reading Angels 27-25 25-19.

St Malo also won the mixed competition, beating Sussex Dolphins in two sets.
