Raymond, 30, is one of the veterans of women's tennis and made her debut in Wichita in 1989.

Although she has won four singles titles and regularly been inside the world's top 20, Raymond has enjoyed her best moments on the doubles court.

She won the mixed doubles title at last year's French Open to claim her seventh Grand Slam doubles title and 42nd in all.

Raymond plays an attacking all-court game that few of her contemporaries on the Tour adopt.

So unsurprisingly, her best Grand Slam singles performance was at Wimbledon in 2000, where she reached the quarter-finals.
