Three-time champion Venus Williams cruised into the fourth round of the Sony Ericsson Open with a 6-1 6-4 victory over Italy's Roberta Vinci. The world number five clinched her 12th successive victory, following back-to-back titles in Dubai and Acapulco, in 70 minutes against the world number 55. Williams will next face Slovakian 19th seed Daniela Hantuchova, who beat 16th seed Nadia Petrova of Russia 6-2 6-4. Russia's top seed Svetlana Kuznetsova comfortably beat Agnes Szavay 6-2 6-3.
