Gasquet's decline continues with his second successive first-round loss

Frenchman Richard Gasquet suffered a second consecutive first-round loss as he was knocked out of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami by Olivier Rochus.

Former world number seven Gasquet followed up his early exit at Indian Wells earlier this month with a 7-6 (7-2) 1-6 6-4 defeat by Belgian Rochus.

"I'm not playing badly, I need to get more confidence," Gasquet said.

Michael Llodra eased past American Ryan Harrison 6-2 6-2 while Jeremy Chardy beat Mario Ancic 6-4 6-4.

United States' Taylor Dent defeated qualifier Rainer Schuettler 6-1 6-4 to set up a meeting with Rafael Nadal.
