The Jersey men's tennis team are out of the competition at the Island Games in Aland after losing to Menorca in the quarter-finals on Sunday. Jersey's James Connelly lost the first match but was not too downhearted. He said: "I'm pleased with my performance, was unlucky to lose in three sets, disappointed that it didn't go to a full third set." Jersey were without experienced player Andy Evans after he pulled out of the team events because of injury. Speaking before the team defeat, the 43-year-old denied his injury put pressure on the rest of the Jersey team. He told BBC Jersey: "I think it is an opportunity to be honest with you, we've got two young guys and it gives them an opportunity to play. "That is great for them, to get involved with the team event straight away, it's a bonus not a negative, it's good."
