Skupski (r) hopes to cause another upset at Wimbledon

Liverpool's Ken Skupski is preparing for his Wimbledon doubles match this week as he hopes to make a big impression on the tournament.

Skupski, 26, and his partner Colin Fleming, 24, face Johan Brunstrom of Sweden and Jean-Julien Rojer of Netherland Antilles in the first round.

"We'll go into it with a lot of confidence and hopefully get a win," Skupski told BBC Radio Merseyside.

"It's a tough one but we've definitely got the capabilities to win."

If they manage to claim victory in their first round encounter, they are likely to meet the United States brothers and world number ones Mike and Bob Bryan.

We're looking forward to it, but we've got to look at the first match as the big one

Ken Skupski on the possibility of facing the Bryan brothers

The British pair beat the Bryans at Queen's Club less than two weeks ago.

Skupski believes another victory is not beyond them if they are to match up again in round two at Wimbledon.

"We're looking forward to it, but we've got to look at the first match as the big one," continued Skupski.

"Once we get through that - there's an upset on the cards again hopefully. Maybe we can get on a main court and put on a great show for everybody."

Skupski and Fleming hope to get their first round match played on Wednesday before the possibility of taking on the world's best pairing later in the week.
