Rae thrilled to be back on court

Jocelyn Rae hopes her impressive return to competitive action will spell the end of an injury-plagued six months.

The 18-year-old from Arnold, Nottingham has been struggling with a leg injury but showed good form on her return to tournament tennis this week.

Rae, playing her first tournament since November, reached the second round of the Aegon Trophy in Nottingham.

She told East Midlands Today: "Just to be back on court is good. Hopefully now I can have a clean run of health."

Rae beat Carly Gullikson 7-5 6-3 in the first round but came unstuck against former Wimbledon quarter-finalist Michaella Krajicek in the second round, going down 6-4 7-6 (7-4).
