"It's exciting playing the best in the world."
Roger Federer looks ahead to his semi-final clash with Novak Djokovic. We presume he's referring to Djokovic's fine form and not how his opponent might feel ahead of the match.

"He's done a phenomenal job, four semi-finals of Grand Slams at his age."
Again, Federer waxes lyrical about Djokovic.

"It's great being on top of the game for so long and being compared to greats like (Rod) Laver and Pete Sampras. It's great being part of the pinnacle of the sport in every Grand Slam I'm playing in."
We knew it couldn't last - Federer takes time out of his Djokovic love-in to talk about himself.

"James is such a great player, hits some incredible shots and he's so dangerous on any point, he's improved a lot over the last few years."
This time Federer pays tribute to James Blake - who he has just beaten in straight sets. It's easy to be magnanimous in victory isn't it.

"In the end I was very, very nervous. There is no excuse for that, I was behaving really badly. It's a professional sport and we all fight to win so on the court sometimes you cannot control your emotions."
Perfectionist Novak Djokovic looks back on his straight-sets win over David Ferrer.

"I would have liked it to be different. But, unfortunately, I don't have a time machine, so I cannot reverse this loss. If any of you have one, please let me know"
Venus Williams makes an unlikely appeal after losing to Ana Ivanovic.

"It was an amazing match, we had lots of long rallies and Venus is an amazing competitor. I want to thank you guys (the crowd) for helping me through. It's amazing."
Ivanovic reflects on her, ahem, "amazing" win over Williams.

"I kept believing and here I am in the semis. It means a lot. I guess I had to get through all the tough times and get experience in order to be able to get to this stage.
