Henman had enjoyed some good displays before his injury |
Tim Henman hopes to be back in action sooner than expected after a scan revealed he does not have a serious knee injury. The British number two suffered the problem during his defeat by Stanislas Wawrinka in Basle last week.
He told his official website: "The results of the scan on my right knee have revealed no serious problems.
"There's some inflammation of my hamstring and knee but I'm hoping it will heal with rest."
The defeat signalled the end of Henman's season but he admitted the injury had come at a time when he could afford to take time off.
"If there's such a thing as a good time to be injured I guess it's now at the end of the season when I'd be having some time off anyway," he said.
"Having said that, though, I'm keen for it to clear up as soon as possible so I can make the most of the off-season ahead of next year."
