Some frequently asked questions about BBC Sport's weekly caption competitionQ: When does this competition appear?
A: The photograph is published every Monday. You have until the following Friday at noon GMT to submit your hilarious captions. The winner will be revealed a few hours later (once our laughter has subsided and our sides stitched back together).
Q: Where can I find the competition?
The Cap Comp can always be found on BBC Sport's Have Your Say and Fun and Games indexes.
Q: How many entries do you get?
A: Every week we get well over a thousand entries - we do read them all!
Q: Why don't you publish a selection of entries any more?
A: Unfortunately, the cap comp has grown to unwieldy proportions, and whilst we appreciate all the entries, we can no longer publish a large selection due to time constraints.
Q: How do you decide which is the winner?
A: Good question! Our panel of Cap Comp veterans retire to consider their verdict and agree on what they think is the funniest caption.
Q: Sometimes the winners just are not funny...
A: Fair point, but comedy is subjective and they made us laugh.
Q: Why didn't my caption win?
A: We try to consider every gag, and we value your entry greatly - but if you didn't win, there is not much that can be done about it. Sorry, and please try again next week.
Q: Can I enter more than once?
A: Of course, please do.
Q: What's the prize?
A:A fabulous and much-sought after BBC Sport Goody Bag, the contents of which remain a secret to only those fortunate to have won a Cap Comp crown.
