Kiwis Arlidge, Webb and MacDonald set to exit Dragons

James Arlidge
Matthew Jones could be on his way to replace Arlidge at the Dragons

New Zealanders James Arlidge, Grant Webb and Hoani MacDonald are set to leave Newport after two years at the Dragons, BBC Sport Wales understands.

Former Highlanders and Ulster number eight Webb exits after 32 Dragons games, while Melbourne Rebels have signed back-five forward MacDonald.

Japan international fly-half Arlidge has scored 259 points in 40 games at the Rodney Parade region.

Matthew Jones could arrive to provide the fly-half cover to Jason Tovey.

The Dragons have been linked with the Worcester and Wales 10, as well as Blues back-five forwards Scott Morgan and Robin Sowden-Taylor.

The Dragons are set to make formal announcements on their comings and goings next week after a full review of the season.
