Morgan Stoddart played 20 minutes for Llanelli RFC in their draw at Aberavon
Scarlets and Wales full-back Morgan Stoddart was pleased with his return from a serious knee injury on Saturday. The 25-year-old had been out since damaging ligaments in a Magners League win over Edinburgh in March. The three-cap strike-runner from Trealaw played 20 minutes in Llanelli RFC's 32-32 draw at Aberavon. "The knee felt completely normal which was great, it was a brilliant feeling to be back on the field and playing again," said Stoddart. "It's strange, I thought I'd be a little more nervous after such a long break from playing but I wasn't at all. Morgan Stoddart being carried off the field against Edinburgh |
"As soon as I started to warm-up, I just couldn't wait to get onto the pitch." Scarlets coach Nigel Davies told BBC Sport Wales before the game: "It's great to have [Morgan] coming back to give us that extra option. "He's one of those players with that X-factor and you need as many of those on the pitch as possible. "Games are won and lost in those key moments."
