Moriarty joined the Scarlets from rivals Swansea in 2003 |
Former Scarlets forwards coach Paul Moriarty is considering taking legal action against the region over the circumstances of his July departure. Simon Easterby has since assumed the coaching role while continuing to play. Moriarty said: "Maybe it was the right decision [by the Scarlets], but maybe it wasn't done in the right way so we'll just have to find out." He added: "There could be [legal proceedings], yes." The Scarlets declined to comment. Ex-Wales dual-code international Moriarty moved to Llanelli from traditional local rivals Swansea in 2003, joining then-coach Phil Davies' back-room team. He added: "It was certainly disappointing, how it came about, and it's something that I don't know whether it's finished yet. | We just have to wait and see what everyone's findings are and which way they [the Scarlets] want to finish it |
"I can't elaborate too much. They know that it's not finished yet and I know that it's finished yet. "We just have to wait and see what everyone's findings are and which way they want to finish it
there could be [legal proceedings], yes." Moriarty's departure came in the wake of the Scarlets parting company with Wales internationals Dafydd James and Gavin Thomas as well as New Zealander Simon Maling. The Scarlets cited long-term injury issues when announcing the players' exits. They also backed out of a deal to bring All Blacks flanker Daniel Braid from Queensland Reds after the player suffered an Achilles injury.
