Warriors benefactor Leighton Samuel says the side's return to Pontypridd's Sardis Road did not create the interest he had hoped. The regional team played their first game in five months at the ground last Friday against Munster, but Samuel says the crowd was "disappointing."
Press reports claim 5,500 attended but Samuel insists only 4,157 were there.
Bridgend's Brewery Field is Samuel's favoured location and future games at Sardis now seem doubtful.
The Warriors boss has previously argued that Bridgend's ability to support extra hospitality boxes make playing at the ground a financial necessity.
Samuel's outburst against Sardis Road was made in a detailed official statement on the Warriors website.
 | The crowd and income generated was disappointing |
"The capacity of Sardis Road is 7,200 therefore the ground was just under 60% full," said Samuel. "Looking around and after watching the video replay I am satisfied that this was the case.
"The net gate monies received was just 29,140. The crowd and income generated there from was therefore disappointing.
"It was a beautiful spring evening, international players were back for the first time since the Heineken Cup games and it was a must-win game.
"Sometimes the facts are difficult to accept and there is a realisation that crowd sizes in many grounds are somewhat exaggerated for whatever reasons."
