Worcester Warriors happy with Adam Black - Ruddock

Worcester Warriors director of rugby Mike Ruddock says he is not surprised by the impact prop Adam Black has had at Sixways.

The 35-year-old was a surprise signing from the Dragons in the summer.

Ruddock told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "He has done very well for us, I knew that when I signed his as I had worked with him at Ebbw Vale and the Dragons.

"He gets better the more he plays. He likes to play every week and he was used to playing every week."

Black was the first player in the history of Celtic League rugby to reach 100 appearances, after joining the Dragons from Ebbw Vale in 2001.

Ruddock said: "He has always been number one, he had a period of adjustment with Matt Mullan being so well thought of at the club, and Callum Black playing very well.

"Certainly since he has had the opportunity of a run of games we have seen the best of him.

"He is going very well, he enjoys it at the club and the club have taken to him as well."
