Ruddock happy with Warriors backs

Worcester Warriors director of rugby Mike Ruddock insists he is happy with the options he has in his back line.

Ruddock added only Willie Walker and Calum MacRae to that department during the summer.

McCrae is injured but Ruddock insists he has enough quality players to take the Warriors higher up the table.

Ruddock told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "Willie Walker is very capable in this division. Alex Grove showed what he could do against Leeds."

"We have Rico Gear coming off the bench and two excellent wingers," Ruddock added.

"What we need to do is be more accurate in terms of the amount of ball we get to these guys, and I am sure they will unlock a few defences."

Warriors suffered a 23-3 defeat by Wasps on Sunday.

"What we didn't do was win the kicking battle," said Ruddock.

"A couple of drop goals we tried didn't land on the target and Cipriani banged two over.

"Willie missed a couple of kicks first half, so there wasn't much in the teams.

"We didn't have a great day with the boot, but other than that is was just what we thought it would be."
