Worcester Warriors director of rugby Mike Ruddock says he has been impressed with on-trial full-back Calum MacRae.

The 29-year-old Scot made his first Warriors appearance in the pre-season friendly against Doncaster Knights.

Ruddock told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "He's played in A internationals and has captained Borders and played for Edinburgh.

"With that kind of pedigree we expect him to do well. He certainly did that against Doncaster."

Ruddock added: "He is very versatile, can play at full-back, on the wing and at number 10."

Worcester face Newport Gwent Dragons on Friday in their second warm-up game.
