Calum MacRae said he was looking forward to playing for Edinburgh |
Edinburgh have signed four Scotland backs to boost the club's bid for honours next season. Calum MacRae joins from the Border Reivers and Andrew Turnbull will return to Scotland after a season with Rotherham Titans.
Centre John Houston is also moving to the Scottish capital, and Mark Robertson switches from Reivers.
MacRae said he was looking forward to competing for a first-team place at his new club.
He added: "I have played against Edinburgh a lot over the years and they play an attractive type of rugby which is one reason why I'm moving. "

Former full-time sevens player Turnbull is Scotland's highest try scorer on the IRB circuit with 46.
Houston played in Scotland's club international victory over their Irish counterparts at Meggetland last Friday.
Borders apprentice Robertson's try in last season's club international against Ireland at Donnybrook was selected as try of the year at the Scottish Rugby Awards ceremony last May.
Edinburgh executive chairman Alex Carruthers said he was confident the four signings would strengthen the squad during what would prove a challenging year.
"The fact they all have sevens experience shows that they have the required rugby skills allied to pace, which will allow us to play in a manner consistent with Edinburgh," he said.
Carruthers said the club was delighted to have signed four Scots, adding that it illustrated its commitment to showcase the best Scottish talent.
"The fact we have also brought Andrew back to Scotland outlines that some players would prefer to ply their trade north of the border in order to enhance their international aspirations," he added.
"All of the players have previously worked with Rob Moffat and this shows the high regard in which Rob is held by the players.
"We look forward to their contribution on the field next season."
