Mike Ruddock is preparing for his third season at Worcester |
Mike Ruddock says he will scour the world to find players who will boost Worcester's squad for next season. The Warriors director of rugby already has his sights on some players, but is looking for other new talent as well. "I'll be going to the Under-20 World Cup in Japan while Matt Powell is going to South Africa to have a look round," he told BBC Hereford & Worcester. "And one of our coaching staff will probably go to New Zealand - we won't be sitting idly I can assure you." Ruddock says they will be boosted by the return of long term injured players, like Chris Latham and Sam Tuitupou next season. "The guys who have been out will be back early and pushing hard to get back to full fitness, so our pre-season will again be vital," he said. And he added that while the defeat against Bourgoin on Saturday was disappointing, there might be one plus to come out of the semi-final. "Last year's European Final shortened our pre season as we had to wait an extra two weeks for the final and it may be our only blessing in disguise. "After losing to Bourgoin, we can start earlier this summer."
