Worcester Warriors duo Matt Cox and Greg King have agreed new deals with the Guinness Premiership side. Back row Cox, 21, has signed a two-year extension while centre King, also 21, has agreed a new one-year contract. Director of rugby Mike Ruddock said: "Matt is a former England Under-20 international and we're delighted he's signed as he has a big future ahead. "Greg has also pledged his future to the club and we're delighted with that as he is an all-action centre." Cox, who joined the Warriors when he was 15, appeared at open-side for England in their successful 2008 Under-20 Six Nations campaign. He started all five games and scored two tries, he has also played for England Sevens. | He runs extremely hard and incredibly strongly at the game-line and he tackles above his weight and size Mike Ruddock on Greg King |
King made his full Premiership debut against Harlequins earlier this month. Both players are products of the Warriors academy. While Cox is currently sidelined following a shoulder operation, King may get a chance to impress in the European Challenge Cup semi-final against Bourgoin. "He runs extremely hard and incredibly strongly at the game-line and he tackles above his weight and size," added Ruddock. "Greg has been selected for the travelling party for the semi-final against Bourgoin. "This highlights his potential and we expect great things from him next season."
