Wood was a product of Worcester's academy

Worcester Warriors back row Tom Wood is expected be ruled out of competitive action for four weeks after breaking his lower jaw.

Wood suffered the injury in the win against Wasps on 28 February.

The 22-year-old has recently returned after shoulder surgery and has made 12 appearances for the club this season.

"He's been unlucky with injuries. He'll be keen to defy the medical reports and return as soon as possible," said director of rugby Mike Ruddock.

"His absence will give an opportunity to others in the back row that I am sure will be keen to take this chance to stake a claim for more first-team rugby."
