Ruddock says he is focused on his role at Worcester Warriors |
Worcester's Mike Ruddock has said his first return to Wales as a top-flight coach, since leaving the national team, was not a sentimental occasion. The ex-Wales coach took his side there to play the Ospreys, in the EDF Energy Cup on Sunday. He told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "I've been in these situations before, I took teams back to Leinster and I came to the Ospreys when I coached the Dragons. "It's not something I'm really sentimental about." Ruddock, who stepped down as Wales boss in February 2006, played for and coached Swansea in the 1980s and 90s. But he said he was now fully focused on his head-coach role at Sixways. "I'm enjoying my time at Worcester, we are building a good young squad that will be very competitive in the future," he added. Warriors' final EDF Energy Cup pool game is against Harlequins on Sunday 2 November. There will be full commentary on the game on BBC Hereford & Worcester on 104 FM and online at bbc.co.uk/herefordandworcester.
