Crichton's late penalty sealed victory for Worcester at Adams Park
Worcester fly-half Loki Crichton says he was nervous before slotting over his decisive injury-time penalty in the 11-10 win over Wasps on Sunday.
The former Samoa international admits he was haunted by memories of missing similar kicks in the past.
"I was a bit nervous but that's why you practise all day to put yourself in that sort of pressure," he told BBC Hereford & Worcester.
"I was saying to myself 'Prove yourself. You can do this.'"
Crichton missed a crucial last-gasp penalty against Worcester in 2007 when he was at Newcastle, which cost Falcons the game and ultimately led to Warriors survival in the Premiership.
But he has spent a lot of time practising his place kicking over the summer.
"They think the 10's just come training, go home and do nothing," he said. "But we put in the extra hours trying to do our job."
