Jones kicked eight points on his Premiership debut |
Worcester Warriors fly-half Matthew Jones says they have a lot of work to do in training this week ahead of the game against Wasps on Sunday. Jones made his Premiership debut in the defeat at Northampton and told BBC Hereford & Worcester that Warriors have to improve the basics of their game. "Northampton did well on our line out, they spoiled a lot of ball. "We didn't get good ball to our backs, and with the quality we've got in the backs we have to get the ball to them." Jones, who spent last season playing National One rugby at Moseley and London Welsh, says he was a bit tense on his debut in the top flight of English rugby. "It'd be wrong to say I wasn't a bit nervous, it's good to have nerves, but maybe it's more excitement. "First game of the season, mistakes were bound to happen, but we have to work hard on putting those right." Jones says he is a fan of Wasps' style of rugby and is hoping to start the game at Adams Park on Sunday. "I have watched Wasps in the Premiership, so often they don't start the season well, but they are always there and winning the title, and I think they are the Manchester United of rugby." There will be full commentary on London Wasps versus Worcester Warriors on Sunday on BBC Hereford and Worcester on 104, 104.4, and 104.6 fm and online.
