Fly-half Jones impresses Warriors

Matthew Jones
Jones had recent spells at Moseley and London Welsh

Worcester Warriors skipper Pat Sanderson has been impressed with the form of new fly-half Matthew Jones.

Jones joined Worcester from National League One, following a serious injury while at Ospreys.

Sanderson told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "We see a limited amount of that league but he has impressed and looks like the real deal."

Jones started the pre-season games with Moseley and Ulster and is favourite to begin at Northampton on Sunday.

Sanderson says he is certain Warriors can start well, despite having two away games to begin the league season:

"We have a stronger squad than last season, if we can continue in the same vein we left off last season it all bodes well."

Worcester Warriors' game at Northampton will be featured in a rugby special on BBC Hereford & Worcester from 1305 BST on 104, 104.6 and 104.4 fm and on line at bbc.co.uk/herefordandworcester.
