Morris extends Warriors contract

Darren Morris
Morris has made 44 appearances in total for Worcester

Worcester Warriors' veteran prop Darren Morris has signed a new two-year deal that keeps him at the club until 2010.

Morris, who is out of action for the rest of the season with a bicep injury, moved to Sixways from Leicester Tigers at the end of the 2006 season.

The 33-year-old made his debut in 1998 and has 18 caps for Wales and has played for the British & Irish Lions.

"I'm really pleased to have signed up, it was always the right decision for me to stay," he said.

I actually think Darren has played better than I have seen him play for a long time this season

Worcester director of rugby Mike Ruddock
He added: "These are exciting times at Warriors and that was a big incentive to agree a deal.

"This year I have really enjoyed being a Warrior and the environment around the club."

Worcester's director of rugby Mike Ruddock said: "Darren also has huge experience in the Premiership and his performances this season have been out of the top drawer.

"I actually think Darren has played better than I have seen him play for a long time this season and he seems to be enjoying the style of rugby that we're trying to promote.

"Hopefully that will continue to bring the best out of him over the next two years."
