Bath proved too strong for Ulster in the pre-season clash at Ravenhill.
Ian Humphreys missed a couple of early Ulster penalties before Mark McCrea's intercept try put the home side ahead in the 19th minute.
However Bath hit back with tries from Ross Batty and Matt Banahan and Sam Vesty's conversions increased the lead to 14-7 at the break.
Olly Barkley and Jack Cuthbert added further Bath tries in the second half before Pedrie Wannenburg's late reply.
Springbok Wannenburg produced a lively debut for Ulster although his compatriot and Ulster skipper Johann Muller only managed a half on his first Ravenhill appearance.
Ulster failed to turn early territorial domination into points as Humphreys was off target with two kickable penalties.
The home team's 19th-minute try came as Bath were threatening with McCrea intercepting from the edge of his own '22 before running all the way to score under the visitors' posts.
Humphreys found his range with the boot to extend Ulster's lead to 7-0.
After some largely forgettable action, Ulster held their lead until the 38th minute when Bath turned a period of pressure into seven points.
Ulster were temporarily down to 14 men after Tim Barker's sin-binning and Bath had numbers out wide as hooker Ross Batty scored in the corner.
Sam Vesty added the difficult conversion to level matters but Bath still had time to take the lead before the break as Matt Banahan broke through some weak Ulster tackling to touch down.
Vesty's conversion increased Bath's advantage to seven points at the break.
Neither team were able to notch points in the 20 minutes after half-time.
The main incident of note during that period was an injury suffered by debutant Ulster prop Paddy McAllister after a collapsed scrum although thankfully the youngster was able to walk gingerly off the park.
Bath increased their advantage in the 63rd minute as Barkley danced his way over the line as the visitors again had numbers out wide after a burst into the Ulster '22.
After Barkley added the conversion, Bath soon added their fourth try with Banahan's off-load setting up Cuthbert to score in the corner.
Wannenburg showed good awareness to reply for Ulster as he took a quick tap penalty to score under the posts as the Bath defence lost concentration.
Humphreys added the conversion but that was as good as it got for Ulster as Bath threatened at the other end before the final whistle.
