South African duo Schalk Brits and Ernst Joubert have both signed new deals with Saracens.

Hooker Brits, 29, and 30-year-old back row Joubert's current contracts were due to expire at the end of the season.

Brits, who was named the Premiership player's player of the year last season, has scored 20 points in six appearances so far this term.

Both players joined in the summer of 2009 but Sarries will not confirm the duration of their new contracts.

"This is a special place and I'm really enjoying life at the moment," Brits told the club website.

"We're competitive on the field and we're a trusted group of friends off the field , this club is a genuine family and I'm very happy to be part of that."

Joubert added: "I can't think of anywhere else I would rather be playing my rugby.

"There is such a special vibe in and around the squad, and everybody wants to be part of what, I'm sure, is going to be an exciting future."
