Saracens have signed 18st South African prop forward Frik Venter from Super 14 outfit Sharks. The 27-year-old can play on either side of the scrum, and had a spell with Irish province Connacht in 2005. Sarries' incoming director of rugby Brendan Venter said: "Frik is a typical ball-carrying prop, who can develop into the complete package. "He can also play at tight head, making him more valuable as the IRB could be making law changes in the front row."
