Bishop was injured against Munster in September 2005

Former Wales and Ospreys centre David Bishop has signed a one-year contract with Sale Sharks.

Bishop had a trial with the Sharks during July after being released by Ospreys, despite making a comeback from a long-term knee injury last season.

The 25-year-old told the club's website: "I am incredibly grateful to [director of rugby] Kingsley Jones for giving me this opportunity.

"I am confident I can develop and the Sharks are the team to do it with."
