Peel has won 64 Wales caps but is not in their Six Nations plans

Sale scrum-half Richard Wigglesworth has praised team-mate Dwayne Peel after the Sharks' 26-17 win over Clermont Auvergne in the Heineken Cup.

Peel was omitted from the 28-man squad for Wales' Grand Slam defence but was named man-of-the-match after scoring a try in Saturday's victory.

Wigglesworth told BBC Radio Manchester: "We all knew he was going to come and put in a good performance.

"He definitely did that. I could see it in his eyes before the game."

He added: "We get on really well, he is a top bloke and a quality rugby player."
