Northampton Saints' Ben Foden says they can get better
Foden has scored two tries for Saints this season
Northampton Saints full-back Ben Foden insists there is more to come from the team this season.
The 24-year-old has helped the Saints to third in the Guinness Premiership and second in the Heineken Cup.
Foden told BBC Radio Northampton: "We are a young squad. But we're yet to perform for 80 minutes this season.
"We're yet to show teams what we're capable of. When that happens, Northampton will be one of the best teams around."
Foden's contract at Northampton expires at the end of the season but he is keen to be a part of their future.
"Northampton are an attractive club at the moment," he said.
"They're building for the future and going in the right direction.
"Jim Mallinder and Dorian West have signed the right guys, and they're patient. We make mistakes, but we learn. They let us play a nice style of rugby."
Foden also paid tribute to his fellow Saints backs.
"It's nice to play with Chris Ashton, Bruce Reihana and Paul Diggin at full-back. They're very accomplished players, and we work well as a team," he said.
"You're only as good as the players and coaches around you, and they encourage me to run the ball back. That's the style of rugby everyone wants to see.
"The back three have been superb so I'm pretty happy."
