Form merits Ireland call - Wilson

Northampton Saints number eight Roger Wilson believes his club form deserves to be rewarded with a call-up to the Ireland squad.

The 28-year-old, who has one cap, has been a regular for Saints since signing from Ulster in 2008.

But he was not included in the Ireland set-up for their autumn games against Australia, Fiji and South Africa.

"It's disappointing, I think my form has merited inclusion in the big squad," he told BBC Radio Northampton.

"It's a bit harder here with so many games, as opposed to the Irish players. But I'm just trying to put in good performances every week."

Wilson was rested for the LV= Cup win against Ospreys and returns for the match against Saracens.

"It was nice to have a break, and it makes a difference because you don't have any of the niggling injuries," he said. "It's good that we can rotate players and still go to Wales and win."
