Dowson joined the Saints from Newcastle Falcons this summer. |
Northampton Saints back-row forward Phil Dowson says he expects the rest of the Premiership season to be as tight as their first two games. Saints beat Worcester 20-17 on the opening day before losing 19-16 to Saracens on Saturday. Dowson told BBC Radio Northampton: "I think the quality of all the sides in the Premiership now means that there is no space early on in games. "The games are going to be tighter and tighter and the odd mistake costly." In the last few moments of the match against Saracens the television match official ruled out Soane Tonga'uiha's try which would have given Saints the points. Dawson added: "I said to the lads if we can be there or thereabouts in an away game with two minutes to go like that, we will win more than we lose because we are that sort of side."
