Hull centre Kirk Dixon has become the latest rugby league player to try his hand at union after joining Northampton on a two-month loan deal. The 22-year-old, who remains available to the Super League play-off hopefuls, has joined Saints on dual registration.
He joins another league recruit, Stephen Myler, at Saints after being recommended by Hull coach Peter Sharp.
"It was based on his professionalism, physicality and aptitude for rugby union," said Saints coach Paul Grayson.
"Kirk and Stephen Myler's arrival may seem timely but these were players who had agreed terms with us a few months ago to support the club's long-term recruitment aims."
Dixon, a proven goal-kicker who has played rugby union for Hull Ionians, will bolster Saints' options with Jon Clarke and captain Bruce Reihana both facing long spells on the sidelines.
"I have not been getting in the starting side for Hull and so I spoke to my agent who told me this opportunity had come up," Dixon said.
"I hope to get a lot of experience while I am here and hopefully impress the coaches enough to secure a contract."
