Lock Gough close to Ospreys deal
Wales and Dragons lock Ian Gough
Gough has been with the Dragons for the past four seasons
Wales second row Ian Gough is likely to leave Newport Gwent Dragons at the end of the season to join the Ospreys, BBC Wales Sport understands.

His arrival would be the Ospreys' second high-profile capture, with a deal to bring Mike Phillips to Swansea from Cardiff Blues almost done.

Gough's Dragons deal ends in June but he has been offered him a new contract.

But the 30-year-old, who plays for Wales against France on Saturday, has decided his future lies elsewhere.

He will face stiff competition at the Ospreys, though, who already have Wales locks Ian Evans, Alun Wyn Jones and Brent Cockbain on their books.

Gough has made 86 appearances for the Dragons since the region was formed in 2003, scoring four tries.
