Wales Under-20 full-back Martyn Thomas has left Llanelli Scarlets to join Welsh rivals Newport Gwent Dragons. The 19-year-old started two Magners League games at the start of the season but has since fallen behind Morgan Stoddard in the pecking order.
Thomas will provide back-up cover for Wales full-back Kevin Morgan at Rodney Parade.
He will line-up for Wales against Ireland in the opening Under-21 Six Nations match in Swansea on Friday.
