Ian Keatley's 70th-minute drop-goal gave Ireland Under-20 a comeback win over Wales in the Under-21 Six Nations.

Wales were 15-0 up in the first quarter with tries from Ken Owen and Martyn Thomas, and a Rhys Priestland penalty.

Tom James then had a try wrongly ruled out before Ireland hit back in Swansea with a Felix Jones converted try.

Full-back Jones then showed great pace to score his second converted try on 54 minutes, and then fly-half Keatley's long drop-goal gave Ireland victory.

Wales were dominant in the early exchanges and were unfortunate not to extend their lead on the half-hour mark.

James looked to have scored a perfectly legitimate try, but the referee judged the winger had put a foot in touch.

Televisions replay showed James was at least a metre inside the touchline.

The incident seemed to disrupt Wales' concentration and Ireland took full advantage as Jones, a late addition to the side for the injured Luke Fitzgerald, got his side back in the game with a try just before the break.

His second score, again converted by Keatley, came from a flowing attack from the halfway line and highlighted the difference in class between the two sides in the second half.

Wales' game completely fell apart as the handling errors pilled up, and their poor play was fully punished when Keatley struck a superb drop-goal to complete Ireland's comeback.

*Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England all agreed to field Under-20 sides in this season's competition.
