Newcastle Falcons lock James Hudson is confident his side can continue their winning Premiership run despite two consecutive LV= Cup defeats.
After two successive wins in the league, director or rugby Steve Bates rested a number of players for the defeats by Harlequins and Worcester.
Hudson told BBC Newcastle: "Because the squad was mixed there probably isn't a loss of momentum as might appear.
"Winning's a habit and we've got to get back into that at the weekend."
He added: "It's about us as a team performing, and we're desperate to get back to where we were with those last two Premiership wins.
Hudson's former club London Irish provide the opposition for Newcastle's return to league action, with the Falcons travelling to the Madejski Stadium on Sunday.
Toby Booth's side are unbeaten in six top-flight matches and Hudson acknowledged the difficulty of the tasks that awaits the North East club.
"They've found some of their rhythm after the last few weeks," said Hudson.
"I think they've built quite well on the squad they've generated over the last few years.
"There's not been much turnover and the players they have brought in and added a lot of depth.
"There are good players in the squad who have been on the verge but have played every week over the last few years."
