Sackey has also played for Bedford and London Irish |
Wasps wing Paul Sackey is hoping his sparkling start to the season can propel him into the England squad. The 26-year-old has scored four tries in four games so far, and he joined up with England's three-day training squad at Loughborough this week.
"Hopefully I can knock on the door for the Six Nations or maybe a little earlier," he told BBC London.
"All I can do is play well for Wasps. It is a matter of trying to get it right at international level."
Sackey, who joined Wasps from London Irish in 2005, was named in the England Saxons squad for the Churchill Cup in the summer but was ruled out with a toe injury.
He believes he is benefiting from the break and has set his sights on topping the Premiership try-scoring list at the end of the season.
Last year Sackey finished with eight tries in the league, six behind top-scoring Tom Varndell of Leicester.
"It's early days, I have had a good start to the season and at this moment in time I am looking for the Premiership top try scorer," he added.
"Our back line is not playing well yet but I have just been in the right place at the right time. I am sure when we do click everyone else is going to be scoring.
"I am just playing my game and hopefully I can keep it going for the rest of the season. I just need to keep focused."
