Higgins will arrive in time for the first game of the tour |
Bath winger Andrew Higgins has been called up to the England Saxons squad for the Churchill Cup in Canada after a toe injury ruled out Paul Sackey. The Wasps player missed the flight on Monday to give him extra recovery time but it proved to be in vain.
"I want to improve on my performances for Bath towards the end of the season and build upon them," said Higgins.
"The World Cup is not that far off now so it's important that I can show the selectors what I can do."
The England side, coached by Jon Callard, begin the defence of their title against Scotland A in Toronto on Saturday.
