Geraghty has made 14 appearances for Irish this season |
London Irish head coach Toby Booth believes Shane Geraghty is ready to return to the England ranks. The Exiles' fly-half made his debut against France in 2007 but has been blighted by injuries since. Booth told BBC Berkshire: "For the last couple of weeks we've seen better from Shane, playing in a controlled manner, but maintaining his creative instincts. "He played well again against Sale. He controlled the game well and made a few tactical decisions," he added. | It's frustrating not to have a full complement of players, but it's indicative of what's going on and how well we are playing as team. | "Shane's certainly coming to form at the right time." Delon Armitage, Nick Kennedy and Peter Richards were the other London Irish players named in the elite squad in July 2008 and for the autumn internationals. And Booth says he expects to be without at least that many players against during the Six Nations. "Obviously it's frustrating for us not to have the full complement of players to choose from, but it's indicative of what's going on and how well we are playing as team." Booth now believes Steffon Armitage deserves to join his brother Delon in the squad. "That's beyond my control, but I thought he was the best back-row player out on the pitch [against Sale] and there were some very good back-row players out there."
