London Irish captain Bob Casey has signed a four-year contract extension to keep him with the club until 2012. The 29-year-old lock forward joined the Exiles in 2002 and could now see out his career at the Madjeski Stadium.
He told BBC Radio Berkshire that once the details of the deal were settled, it was an easy decision to stay.
He said: "They're a great set of fans, great management, the board have been fantastic and I really want to be part of something special here."
Casey joined from Leinster in July 2002 and has five caps for Ireland. He has played for Irish 147 times, scoring six tries.

"I love playing with the club and I love playing with the guys. We have a great team spirit here, we all get on brilliantly and we play some great rugby. So for me it was easy to commit my future," Casey added.
He will be 33 by the end of this contract and he admitted this may be the last one he signs.
"It could be, but you never know what happens in rugby. We'll just see how the body is season-by-season and see how I hold up."
Director of rugby Brian Smith added: "Bob is a terrific asset to the club both on and off the field.
"He plays his heart out week in, week out and is a wonderful leader in the changing room.
