Lock forward Bob Casey has been appointed the new captain of London Irish for the forthcoming season. Casey, overlooked for Ireland's World Cup squad, will succeed Mike Catt, who is taking a new player/coaching role.
Exiles director of rugby Brian Smith said: "I'm delighted Bob has accepted the captaincy.
"He has tremendous leadership qualities and plenty of experience of captaining the team when Mike Catt has been away on England duty."

Casey, who at 6ft 8in is one of the tallest players in the Premiership, joined London Irish in July 2002.
Casey said: "I'm excited and honoured to be asked to be captain of this great club, especially in the context of some of the great players that have held the position before me in the professional and amateur eras.
"We're trying to build something special here and I'm very much looking forward to being a part of it and helping realise our ambitions."
