Chuter was with England but returned to Tigers action last week |
Leicester Tigers hooker George Chuter says the experience of coping with the loss of their Six Nations stars is key to their Premiership hopes. Tigers will be without many of their big-name players in the coming weeks and face some vital league games. But Chuter told BBC Radio Leicester: "It's great that we have that knowhow and experience of this time of year. "We have guys in charge who know how to handle this squad and know how to nurse us through this period." England's Toby Flood, Dan Cole and Ben Youngs are just three of the Tigers who have been missing. And Chuter, whose side face Wasps on Saturday, said managing the squad was key to their chances of maintaining their position at the top of the the table. "No disrespect to the guys coming in but if you lose a couple of international players and put a good club player in you do lose something," he added. "What this team has in spades is character. The individual guys coming in are not the most skilful in the world, or the fastest or strongest. "But they will dig in and work really hard for the club and their team-mates and that's what wins you games in this period."
