Cockerill's side will face Saracens in the Premiership final |
Leicester Tigers coach Richard Cockerill has received a formal warning from the Rugby Football Union after an incident against Bath. The RFU has written to Cockerill about his conduct after he took his frustration out on the wall of the coaches box during the match on 16 May. But RFU disciplinary officer Judge Jeff Blackett decided against taking any further action. Cockerill's side won the game 15-6 to make it into the Premiership final. Judge Blackett said: "Rugby is a game of passion and emotion and all participants are entitled to express those emotions provided they are not abusive to others or bring the game into disrepute. "However, as the game increases in profile and popularity the conduct of those in the public eye comes under ever closer scrutiny and it is important those role models set an example for the younger generation to follow. "I have advised Richard Cockerill to remember this in future."
